Today, the Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division has charged Rodney Lee Cooper with an additional 12 counts of 3rd Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Cooper’s bond has been increased to $60,000, secured. The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public that bond amounts are determined and set forth by a judicial official who is not employed by the Sheriff.

Notice is hereby given that the Transylvania County Board of Commissioners intends to donate surplus inmate uniforms to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office. The County Manager has declared these items as surplus and removed them from service. North Carolina General Statute § 160A-280 allows a county to donate surplus personal property to another governmental unit or nonprofit organization incorporated in the United States.
